Family Dispute Resolution (FDR)
Is a mandatory process for parties to engage with before filing an application with the court in all parenting matters (unless an exemption is granted). FDR is a process in which a Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner (FDRP), who is independent of the parties, helps people to resolve some or all of their disputes arising from separation or divorce. This could be resolving:
Parenting Arrangements
Division of Property
Parenting Matters
Pet ownership
Manage parental conflict
Divorce Coaching
Where FDR is not suitable at any stage of the process, registered FDRP’s can provide a Section 60i Certificate which allows individuals to file an application with the court.
Initial Intake Session: $280
Mediation Session: $2000
Family separation often brings a deep emotional stress on finances, individuals, children and extended family members. Splitting a household increases living costs, strains resources, and can add legal burdens.
